Community Connections

Community Partnerships are an essential part of Glengarry Child Care Society. We would like to recognize the following community businesses and organizations that help us support our children and families.

Glengarry Community League

Donation of space for our Annual Children's Christmas Concert and fundraisers,, access to the outdoor skating rink for our school aged children, support of our ongoing fundraisers.

City of Edmonton, Root For Trees

The Root for Trees program operates out of the front half of our building.

Root for Trees intends to increase tree planting within the city through continued partnerships with businesses, individual residents, and community groups. The annual target of this initiative is to plant an additional 16,000 trees. Celebrate trees at our special events and participate in our tree planting initiatives.

Staff of Root for Trees is a valuable supporter of Glengarry Child Care Society.

Areas of Support:

  •  use of space for GCCS programs
  • assistance with planting within the children's playground
  • Assistance with accessing logs and other natural materials for the playground
  • Funded the replacement of the Playground fence

Cobbs Bread, Namao Centre

Through Cobbs Bread Community Donation Program, we receive 15 loaves of bread per week to use for the children's lunches.

Kids Up Front

Provides tickets to entertainment and sports events for children from low income families who would not otherwise be able attend the event.

Sharon's Driving School

Owner Sharon Kaulback is a valued supporter of the Glengarry Pantry, which provides access to non-perishable food items for families that need an extra hand.

The Fishin' Hole, Edmonton West and Manager, Brian Wiebe, donated two kids fishing combo's for our first Annual Summer Camping Trip to Camp Meywasin.  15 school aged children experienced catch and release fishing due to the generosity of The Fishin' Hole.


Our 1st Annual Summer Camping Trip was held at Camp Meywasin in August of 2018.  31 school aged children, staff and volunteers spent 3 days and 2 nights at camp Meywasin.  It was an incredible experience for the children, many of whom had never been camping before.

Camp Meywasin is located on Lake Wabamum at the Village of Fallis, AB, approximately 1 hour west of Edmonton.

The camp is a registered charity, operated by the Meywasin Community Service Association and is open to all youth groups.
